The NBA is made up of two conferences (East and West). There are a total of 30 teams in the NBA 15 in each conference. Within the regular season, each team plays 82 games. At the end of the season, the top eight teams with the best win-loss record advanced to the playoffs. 16 teams are seeded based on their performance within the regular season the team with the best record receives the number one seed, and the worst receives the number eight seed.

The teams are placed into two brackets one bracket for the Eastern conference and one bracket for the Western Conference.

Of each conference the number one seed will play the number eight seed, the number two seed will play the number seven seed, the number three seed will play the number six seed and finally, the number four seed will play the number five seed. Each playoff bracket is based on the rules of a best of seven games. The team is first of four wins will go through to the next round. By the end of round three, the best of the Eastern Conference will then be left to play the best the Western Conference to find out which team is the overall champions.
