2019 NBA Draft Our Favourite Picks Outside Of The Obvious

The 2019 NBA Draft went much as expected early with there being three outstanding players who went 1,2,3 and then a group who should make an early impact. Some good players did slide a bit and the following are our three favourite value picks:

10. Atlanta Hawks SF Cameron Reddish, Duke

Cam Reddish is a polarising pick who could be a bust but just as easily become an All-Star. He had the misfortune of being the third man at Duke and so didn’t get the ball as much and therefore did drift out of games occasionally. However, he is worth the risk and on our pre-draft board, we had him going a few places higher.

15. Detroit Pistons: PF Sekou Doumbouya, France

We are not sure how he fell this far (we had him going top 10). Doumbouya won’t be 19 until the 23rd December and will probably need a year or two to fill out, but he has soo much potential especially defensively. Watch out for him breaking out in 2021 when the Pistons rebuild may be complete.

25. Portland Trail Blazers: SF Nassir Little, North Carolina

A year ago there was talk of Little being a lottery pick however he had a quiet year at UNC and everyone (myself included) expected his stock to slide – but not to 25! If he regains his 2018 MVP form he is the steal of the draft, and if not he will still be a decent bench player. A no lose pick for the Trail Blazers.
