NBA Playoffs Round 2 – 28th April 2019 Warriors Clinch a win in game 1

With round 2 of the playoffs now fully underway. If last nights games are anything to go by, then round 2 is already shaping up to be a nail biter.

Both teams came in off an impressive first round. The Warriors held off the Clippers 4-2 and Rockets made the Jazz’s playoff journey a short one with a 4-1 win.

With the bear performing well in most areas of the game the Warriors would have been very naive if they thought the Rockets wouldn’t put up one hell of a fight. Last night proved this.

The game was dramatic from the tip. Both teams came out fighting but the Warriors found their rhythm very quickly. This lead to them taking the early lead in the first quarter. The Rockets answered back in the 2nd but then struggled to match up to the Warriors persistence in the 3rd. Rockets pushed back in the 4th but not enough to make up the deficit. the game finally finished 100- 104 in Warriors favour.

Both teams performed better than the other in many areas, Rockets achieved a huge amount of steals, but the Warriors were just more efficient on their FG percentage.

Team leaders were matched for both teams on Points with both Durant and harden on 35 points. However, the quality of shots shows again in the FG Percentage, Harden floated around the 32% mark while Durant’s FG percentage was around 44%.

This really painted the picture of what lead to the Warriors Clinching the win, they were just simply more efficient when it came to scoring.
