Timberwolves 114 – 131 Pistons
Timberwolves came out looking strong in the 1st quarter with two early blocks against Jackson and Griffin, and a strong offensive performance from Towns with 8 points and Teague with 6. End of the first quarter ended with Timberwolves leading 35-22
In the second quarter, Pistons started to turn it around a good solid offensive performance from Drummond, Kennard and Smith. Defensively the Pistons started to shine with 4 steals with 1 each from Drummond, Smith, Ellington and Griffin. By the end of the second quarter Pistons had reduced the Timberwolves lead to just two possessions finishing on 64-60.
The third quarter was an impressive performance by both sides but pistons managed to bag more points with 30 compared with Timberwolves 24 for this quarter. The quarter closed with a beautiful pass by Smith from the middle to the left side to Robinson who was all alone to sink the 3 points.
In the concluding quarter, Pistons were an unstoppable force offensively and Timberwolves helped them considerable with some very questionable shot challenges leading to fouls. Pistons were able to take control and score 41 over the quarter. the game finished Timberwolves 114 – 131 Pistons.
