Eastern Michigan Rallies To Win Idaho Potato Bowl

Eastern Michigan Rallies To Win Idaho Potato Bowl
The Eastern Michigan Eagles wrapped up a fine season by finally winning a bowl game. They had lost in their four previous ones and after falling 13-0 behind early it looked like the trend was set to continue. However, the game turned on a goal-line stand which resulted in San Jose turning the ball over on downs and 13 plays later the Eagles took the lead and never looked back.
San Jose played their part in what was an entertaining game putting up nearly 500 yards of offense. However, they ended up throwing three interceptions two of which resulted in TDs. The game also features a rare two-point play. This arose when The Spartans had their second TD point after blocked. It was picked up and returned which resulted in a two-point score for the Eagles.
On the brighter side, this was the Spartan’s 2nd bowl appearance in three years.  This is something of an achievement given they have only been to 10 in 73 years.
