Airforce Win Armed Forces Bowl In Dominant Fashion

Airforce Win Armed Forces Bowl In Dominant Fashion
Airforce ended their 2022 season with an excellent win over Baylor in the Armed Forces Bowl. This rounded off a great season for the Falcons, who also won the Commander In Chief Trophy for the first time since 2016.
The game-time temperature was a chilly 13 degrees. Thus making it the coldest game Baylor had ever played in and it showed as their opponents adjusted better to the bitter cold. The Falcons never trailed in the game, bouncing off to a 9-0 start before a turnover on downs gave Baylor their first score.
In the end, the game was won on the ground with Airforce rushing for 276 yards. By comparison, Baylor only managed 42 and was 0-11 on third down! Despite the poor conditions, both teams played with a lot of composure.  Neither team turned the ball over except on downs.  Also, there were only 47 yards of penalties in the whole game.
Brad Roberts carried much of the load for the Falcons. He finished with  37 carries for 116 yards and 2 TDs. This helped them dominate time of possession as they secured their third consecutive Bowl win over Power Five opposition.
Baylor will look back on the season with some disappointment having dropped their last four games to end with a losing record. Quite a comedown for them given they won the Sugar Bowl last season.  Next year the Big 12 will be back to two divisions so getting back to a major bowl will not be easy.
The Game Highlights which are well worth watching are below.
