AP Top 25 Week 8 All The No Loss Teams Ranked Finally.

Welcome Minnesota & Appalachian State (Finally)

The AP top 25 looks pretty much spot on this week, well without becoming picky it’s hard to move it about much. The big mover was LSU, who justifiably leapt into the No. 2 spot with what is currently (in our opinion) the best win so far. With wins over Texas & Florida, there is a strong case for them being No. 1, but until Alabama slips up that’s not going to happen. They travel to Alabama on the 9th November in what is shaping up to be the crunch game of the season- Can the loser make the playoffs without playing in the SEC Championship?

LSU has the better wins but can’t quite oust an also flawless Alabama for the top spot.

Clemson seemed back on track this week and are solid at No. 3, however, places 4-7 are pretty much a beauty contest – who do you fancy the most, with all of them having a case for that fourth slot. Right now we would probably put Wisconsin at four and drop Ohio State to six purely based on the style of wins and the form line through Michigan State. Penn State is clear No.7, but Notre Dame ranking ahead of a team they lost to, and one who has an identical record just doesn’t feel right.

Seeing Texas still at 15 is also a surprise, ok their losses are both by one score against good teams, however, their wins don’t amount to much.  Baylor’s wins over Iowa State & Texas Tech should have been enough to elevate them a few places – after all, they are 6-0 and much as we like Boise, their six wins are nowhere near Baylor’s level. We would have the Bears at 14 and would drop Texas to 18.

Otherwise, we pretty much agree and are pleased to see Minnesota & Appalachian State enter the ranks. Our only other change would have been to put Tulane in at 25 as they are 5-1 with a loss against Auburn, while Washington has losses at home to Cal and at Stanford blemishing their 5-2 record.

Anyway it will be all change again come Saturday but until then here is the way AP sees it:
