AP Top 25 Rankings Week 9 Tennessee Top Four!

Quite a quiet week as we wait for the first CFP rankings to be announced; which are due on the 1st of November. The top six remained unchanged with all of them winning or not playing. Alabama is the highest-ranked one-loss team at No 6, however, there are now a bunch of them as both Ole Mis & UCLA lost.

Will a one-loss team make the final four? Well with only six teams still unbeaten and four of them scheduled to meet each other before the championship games begin there is a fair chance.

Making a Statement

Oregon looks like a different team from the one thrashed by Georgia in their opener. They ended UCLA’sunbeaten start with more ease than the score suggests. Bo Nix had another good night and he looks like a different QB to the one that suited up for Auburn in previous years. Getting back with Quarterback Coach Kenny Dillingham has helped.

TCU kept the Big 12’s playoff hopes alive with a solid come-from-behind win over Kansas State. They trailed 28-10 at one stage but put up 28 unanswered points to move to 7-0. If they win out it will be hard for the CFP committee to leave them out given that two of the current top four will have to lose at least one game by season end.

Welcome To The Rankings

LSU returned this week after dropping out in week seven. They are 4-1 in SEC play and have Alabama up next on the 5th of November. A win in that one would most likely see them in the Conference Final. LSU winning that one could put them into the final four.

The SEC got another representative this week – South Carolina. The Gamecocks are on a four-game winning streak and finish the season with Tennessee and then a trip to Clemson. They have virtually no chance of making the final four, however, they could have a big say in who does.
