Is Fifa 20 Ultimate Team Really As Bad As People Say?

Every day, people contact EA Sports on Twitter telling them to “fix their broken game”.

Others say that this is the worst Fifa yet. But then there’s the odd person, like myself, who likes it. So is Fifa 20 really that bad?

Arguments for.

Gameplay in Fifa 20 is arguably the worst it’s ever been. Whether it’s down to the terrible servers or game mechanics, there’s a lot to complain about. For a huge game in 2020, there are so many bugs and glitches, and the quality of gameplay and responsiveness changes match by match. There are too many exploits too. Players are always so vulnerable against near-post shots, and there is almost nothing that you can do to save those types of shots.

There is a certain type of in game player you need to be good. As usual, pace dominates the game, so real-life players who are loved by fans, but who don’t fit the ideal type of player to use on Fifa, become sort of unusable, taking away some of the fun. Good pace, balance, finishing, and a lean body type are just some of the characteristics that make a player overpowered this Fifa, so, as you can imagine, players like Ben Yedder and Neymar are extremely overpowered. They both have 5* weak foot too, which is extremely overpowered this year, as anything less than that is extremely inconsistent.

This is just a few of the things which you can argue make the game bad this year, and the use of the word inconsistent can’t be overused; almost every aspect of gameplay is, which frustrates players.

Arguments against.

You could also argue this is one of the FIFA’s where you have to spend the LEAST real life money. There are so many objectives and SBCs that can be completed in game for free that give you powerful players, which, 5 years ago, was unheard of in Fifa. You don’t have to be the best player ever to get a good team this year either, you just have to play a good amount of the game, and stick at objectives. This makes the game much for fun for casual players, who often felt as if they were being left behind in previous years. FUT champions has a good concept compared to a few years ago. You had to be a very good player to qualify a few years ago, but now you just need to total up a certain amount of FUT champs points and you’re good to go. You could be in Division 10, or division 1, and qualify, which is a good and fair way of doing it.

Summary

The best players in the game and the pros have a right to be mad about the gameplay sometimes, as it  is very bad sometimes, which can affect their job sometimes, as some people play for a career. But, for the average non-competitive casual player, the game has never really been better for getting free high rated rewards, which is why I personally think this Fifa is great.
