2018 Belk Bowl SEC v ACC
The 2018 Belk Bowl is playing second fiddle to the big CFP Bowls today but it is no less intriguing, or wouldn’t have been had South Carolina not had so many players skip the game either to prepare for the draft or through injuries. Had they been at full strength we would have expected them to add to the SEC’s tally, however, without Deebo Samuel we have them as underdogs
Virginia has had an ok season tarnished slightly by two close losses to round the year out, and have nice wins against Duke who won the Independence Bowl & Miami. Overall with a little more luck, they could have had at least 8 wins and we think they will get win eight here.
The oddsmakers have South Carolina Favourites, however, we think this is probably more to do with SEC bias and with the missing players we wouldn’t be surprised if Virginia wins by double digits.
Our prediction is for Virginia to win 27-10.
For those who like to keep track of these things, we are 11-11 so far in our predictions – not too good after starting out 6-1.
