FCS 2019 Predicting The Divisional Winners

FCS Here are our predictions for the FCS Conferences in 2019

North Dakota State look favourites for the Title again but don’t rule out James Maddison.

Big Sky

Eastern Washington Eagles

Last years Championship runners up look the class of the conference – 12-3 last year with the other losses being against FBS Washington State and Weber in a low scoring affair. They have Washington this year in their annual FBS match up and have a potentially tricky trip to Montana but otherwise, we don’t see any losses on the schedule.  Weber & UC Davies look like the only possible threats.

Big South

Monmouth Hawks

8-3 last year but finished strongly; they have to go to Kennesaw State, which is a worry but survive that and the title should be theirs.

CAA

James Madison Dukes

The Dukes have 19 starters returning, avoid Maine and don’t play Colgate this time around. You could make a case for The Dukes being favourites for the Championship in 2019 with all the changes at NDSU.

The Dukes are strong favourites for the CAA and should push for the National title .

Ivy League

Dartmouth Big Green

They play Princeton at a neutral venue this year in what might decide the title again ,and although Yale should be better with 21 starters back they get them at home.

Mid Eastern (MEAC)

 North Carolina A&T Aggies

Look a class apart again in 2019 will lose to Duke but might get revenge over Florida A&M this time around.

Missouri Valley

North Dakota State Bison

Not very original I know but they wnt 15-0 last year and the offence only spluttered a couple of times.  Easton Stick may be off to the NFL but they are masters at bringing through NFL quality QBs and the schedule only has a couple of tricky looking games UC Davies at home and away to South Dakota State.

Northeast

Duquesne Dukes

Their 9-4  record last season was better than it looks given two losses were to FBS teams. They have a future star in running back A.J. Hines.

Ohio Valley

Jacksonville State Gamecocks

The Gamecocks rarely lose in the conference games. Non-conference games and the postseason is a different matter though. Expect a Loss at Eastern Washington and probably a couple more but the should win the conference

Patriot League

Colgate Red Raiders

Colgate shut out five opponents in 2018 and held another two to a solitary field goal. They even gave FBS Army a game. Villanova, Dartmouth and Airforce mean they should lose 3 but they look the class of the conference.

Pioneer League

San Diego: Toreros

Look like maintaining their grip on the conference. The non-conference looks tough though so expect a few losses. Drake could challenge them.

Southern

Wofford Terriers

The Terriers look to be the best-balanced team in the conference and it will be interesting to see if QB Jimmy Weirick gets a chance in 2019 or if they stick with Joe Newman. They get Furman at home which should give them the edge.

Southland

Nicholls State Colonials

The Colonials have to go to Incarnate Word but look to have the conferences best QB in senior Chase Fourcade who threw for 2930 yards last year. The defense looks good too.

SWAC

Southern Jaguars

The Jaguars lost both meetings with Alcorn State last year and will likely meet them again in the title game. If they can get more out of their running back Devon Benn then an upset is possible.
