Boise State Move to 2-0 With Hard Fought Win Over Marshall

The Boise State Broncos who crashed the AP top 25 this week thanks to a huge win at FSU made it two wins out of two with a narrow win over Marshall. The final score of 14-7 probably flattered the Thundering Herd slightly but did more to reinforce our belief that they might just about be the best team in the Mountain West this year and are a good bet for the At Large bowl bid from the Group of Five conferences.

The offense sputtered a bit on Friday night but still put up 437 yards against one of the strongest teams in C-USA, and its the mark of a good team when they can play below par and still come up with a win. The defense looked good, completely shutting down Marshall in the second half (zero net offensive yards)  and Curtis Weaver had another nice game. He has averaged annual double-digit sacks in his career so far and looks on course to keep this up.

Marshall who are our tip to win their division in 2019, won’t be too downhearted by this but will have to pick themselves up quickly as they have two more tough non-conference games coming up, however, both are at home.

Boise has FCS Portland State coming up next, which will be no pushover either given they gave SEC Arkansas a fright in their opener,  however going to 3-0 looks on the cards.
