Charlie Day was born on the 9th February 1976 in New York City. He is an American actor, screenwriter, producer, comedian, director, and musician. Day was born in The Bronx but spent most of his childhood in Middletown on Rhode Island. His parents were both teachers relating to music.

The Career of Charlie Day

Days’ career exploded in 2005 when he started the show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” alongside Creator, Rob McElhenney and Glenn Howerton, where he plays Charlie Kelly. Before It’s Always Sunny Charlie Day had some small T.V. roles such as “Mary and Rhoda”, “Madigan Men”, “Law & Order”, “Third Watch” and “Reno 911!”. He also played some minor roles in films such as, “Campfire Stories” and “Bad Company”.

After the success of his role as Charlie Kelly in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”, Charlie played his next noticeable role as Dale Arbus in “Horrible Bosses” and “Horrible Bosses 2”. He has had great success in voiceover work. Day has starred in “Monsters University”, “The Lego Movie” and “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part”. He has also appeared in “Unsupervised” and “American Dad!”

Charlie Day’s current project is “El Tonto” which is scheduled to be released in 2020.

Personal Life

Day met his wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis in 2001 when they met on the set of “Reno 911!”. They started dating in 2004. Mary Elizabeth Ellis also has a recurring role in ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” as “The Waitress” a character that Charlie Kelly is entirely besotted. Day and Ellis have a child called Russel who was born in 2011.
