Sports Movies: Some Got their Facts Wrong!

Over time, there has been some amazing sports movies that has hit the movie screens, such as Creed, Bend it Like Beckham, Cool Runnings and many more incredible movie productions, however some movies have managed to leave in some small details like the attendants or other moments that normally happen during the main events, however they got the facts wrong! Here is 2 movies that did that!

Escape to Victory – Made in 1981!

This movie is about a football team and made around the 1940s where football was a lot different to how we see it now, and how it was seen back in the 1980s. When the Allies is carried off due to a foul made by the German player, he was stretchered off and replaced by another player, however this rule was not implemented by the officials at FIFA till 1958, meaning that this movie got one fact wrong!

Creed – Made in 2015!

One of the best boxing movies of all time, not as good as the Rocky movies, however a great movie none the less hit the movie screens in 2015, nothing was seeming wrong with it, until you hear the announcers during the final fight between Adonis Creed and “Pretty” Ricky Conlan. The commentator claims to say that there are 100,000 people ready too welcome him into the stadium, however its said that this fight was filmed in Goodison Park, Everton FCs home ground. Meaning that there could have only been either 40,000 people in attendants and or 60,000 fans as that is the safety limit!
