A model by the name of Tasha Ghouri has made her first appearance on Love Island in the first episode that took place last night. The 23-year-old model and dancer has become the first-ever contestant on ITV2’s Love Island that is deaf!
Tasha Ghouri is the first contestant on Love Island that is deaf. She comes from Thirsk, North Yorkshire and last night she gathered all the contestants to discuss that from birth she was deaf and she wears a cochlear implant in her right ear.
A great way to tell people about this and the Love Island contestants were amazed by her.

She went on to even say that she thinks that this is her “superpower” and It’s just something cool that I’ve got about myself.” She then added, “It doesn’t define me, it’s just a part of who I am.”
After this act, she was shown praise by her fellow Islanders for her openness. Indiyah Polack said: “She was so open about it and I could see in her face that was a big thing for her.
“I just honestly wanted to give her a big hug because I just wanted her to know she’s not alone and we’re all here to support her no matter what she’s going through and we all love her.” Indiyah Polack added.
