Prime Video To Launch New Dating Series “Date Night” Narrated by Laura Whitmore
Prime Video has greenlit Date Night, an exciting new UK dating show launching soon on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland.
Narrated by Laura Whitmore, the reality series will give viewers a heart-warming and entertaining insight into the minefield of finding love through dating apps, this time with the help of the nearest and dearest, who at every step will be providing helpful input (or not!).
From prime video’s press release
In the UK, more than half of couples meet on the internet and through dating apps, but in Date Night lovelorn singles will search for their perfect partner using a bespoke dating app with a twist. From the comfort of their sofas, alongside their friends and family, the app will be visible on their living room televisions, allowing everyone to see and comment as they browse potential dates, swipe, and chat.
Our singletons can consult with their nearest and dearest on how to craft the perfect opening message, take their advice on whether eligible suitors are up to scratch, and if they secure a ‘match’ the couples will meet for a unique date where every look, flirtatious comment, and awkward remark is filmed for their friends and family back home…
Will the advice of their family and friends help them find their perfect match? Will a second date be on the cards? And will they ultimately find love with the help of their family and friends?
Over six episodes, viewers will step into the living rooms of our diverse group of eager singletons, from a wide spectrum of sexualities and backgrounds, and follow the ups and downs of their dating adventures. Maybe they will even fall in love with some of them along the way…
Date Night will join the thousands of TV shows and movies in the Prime Video catalogue, including UK produced Amazon Original films and series such as Good Omens, Clarkson’s Farm, The Grand Tour, and All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur, as well as forthcoming UK-produced Amazon Originals Series The Rig, The Devil’s Hour, Mammals, All or Nothing: Arsenal, Jungle, Lovestruck High, Anansi Boys, and The Power; hit movies like Coming 2 America, Golden Globe-winner and Academy Award-nominee Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, the Golden Globe- and Academy Award-nominated movies One Night in Miami and Sound of Metal; and critically acclaimed global Amazon Original series including Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Boys, Homecoming, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, all available on Prime Video at no extra cost for Prime members.
