Charlie Kelly is a Fictional Character, played by Charlie Day in the show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia“. Charlie is a Co-owner of Paddy’s pub. He is a childhood friend of Mac, Dennis and Dee, and possibly the biological son of Frank.

Charlie Kelly Personal Life

Charlie is the son of Bonnie Kelly, who is promiscuous and has multiple sexual partners when charlie is young. Charlie has at least one sister but it is suspected that charlie has younger twin sisters, both of which are referenced in the episode “Charlie Got Molested”.

Charlie is illiterate, and it is said that at school he took a lot of substances such as sniffing glue and marker pens.

He is the only one at the bar that shows a consistent work ethic but he usually tasked with the menial tasks that none else wants to do, this is often referred to as ‘Charlie Work’. He believes himself to be a lawyer who specifically practices in ‘Bird Law’.

Despite his inability to read or write he is very musically talented, and this talent is called upon on multiple episodes. He writes a musical called “The Nightman Cometh”, which may be a reference to a series of his childhood abuse.

Relationships

Charlie has an infatuation with a character known as ‘The Waitress’. He is in love with the waitress and develops multiple schemes to get her to fall in love with him.

Charlie is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and he wheres the Green Man suit in the hope of becoming the mascot for the Eagles. He also shows some knowledge of Ice Hockey and is a capable skater.

Charlie is best friends with Mac however, he lives with Frank for the majority of the show.
