The Premier League is coming back to TV screens very soon, each and every player is getting tested for Coronavirus and making sure they don’t give it to anyone else that is on the pitch, ensuring safety more than anything before returning. So far we have seen some football stars be tested positive for the virus and have to stay at home until the virus is over and or recovers from the virus. Other stars have not returned due to the massive risk it puts on their families, one of the stars is Troy Deeney, who revealed he will not return due to the virus being deadly and could infect the whole of his family with it if he gets the virus as he returns to football.
Troy Deeney wants to ensure that his family is safe and secure before returning to football, family first, football later for him, however, some other people decided to take it too far with the reasons why he didn’t return to training. Deeney said to CNN Sports “I saw some comments in regards to my son, people saying: ‘I hope your son gets corona’, That’s the hard part for me. If you respond to that, people then go: ‘Ah, we’ve got him’ and they keep doing it.” Deeney is due to resume training next week.
To a lot of fans, Deeney is doing the right thing, making sure his family is safe through this pandemic. The risk he would be putting on his child if he returns to training is massive and could cause issues in the family. His son has breathing difficulties and this increases the risk of dying to the virus since the virus is known to attack the lungs and leave a lot of people with shortness of breath.
