Former red Javier Mascherano has said that he didn’t think Jurgen Klopp would have been the one to bring them back to the trophy winning club they once were.
Klopp has helped restore Liverpool back to greatness.
He admitted recently that he was pleasantly surprised by the transformation the club has gone through under Jurgen Klopp.
Mascherano, who left in 2010 for Barcelona, says he admires Klopp style and the way he manages the team, and has ever since his days at dortmund.
He couldn’t quite match recent achievements with the club when he was there, as Liverpool are currently the defending champions league winners, and are a mere 2 games off winning the premier league.
He said: “The team that continues to surprise me with the evolution it has had is Liverpool. It is clear that Klopp has put it together in his image and likeness.
“I am ten years behind, I see how we played with that Liverpool and nothing to do with what I see today.
The Argentinian played over 130 games for the club, with the likes of Steven Gerrard playing beside him. He always played a more defensive role, and since leaving has been playing as a CB a lot more, a position he’s equally as good at.
