The Golden Shoe, Europe’s top goal scorers of the year! This award is one of the best awards you can get in football… apart from the Ballon D’or and other major trophies, but this is what every striker would want! Each year everyone assumes the winner of this will be either Ronaldo or Messi because they are currently the best players in the world right now, but this may change this year! Since Modric won the Ballon D’or this year, instead of Messi and Ronaldo, this award may change as well, however the top 3 players that could win this award are; Messi, Mbappe and Ronaldo! These are the three players that could win this award! But who will win? Messi and Ronaldo are the favourites but Mbappe could cause an upset!

Currently, Messi is leading the Golden Shoe by 3 goals and 6 points ahead of second. Mbappe has surprised us all by being second in this list with 18 points and 36 points and third is Ronaldo with 17 goals and 34 points! This could change over the next few months, since there is still time for other players like; Mohammed Salah, Cavani and Pepe to reach the likes of Messi! This could be a great opportunity for Mbappe however, because he is one of the newest upcoming stars and could be the best player in the world once Messi and Ronaldo retire. If he wins this, he will be considered one of the best at the age of 20!
