The international break has had ups and down for all teams, especially the England national team.
Their most recent match, last night, was against hosts Belgium, and the performance was sub-par to say the least. The Lions didn’t even manage to put a goal past the Belgians, and conceded two themselves.
The first goal was a deflected strike from Leicester midfielder Tielemans, which went on to strike the post and creep behind Pickford. The second was an impressive free kick from Mertens, who is also playing exceptionally well in the Italian first league for Napoli. Despite trying hard, Kane and the England squad just couldn’t score. The game ended 2-0 Belgium.
In other news however, the premier league returns this weekend after a short break, and it’s set to be a good one.
We’ve been a few weekends without a goal fest, so hopefully this weekend doesn’t disappoint.
Current league leaders Leicester take on former Champions Liverpool in the highlight of the weekend, with Liverpool missing a few key players.
It should be an interesting weekend. The rest of the fixtures are below.
