Yesterday, Chelsea had to beat Real Madrid to secure their chances of winning the Champions League. The game was in the favour of Real Madrid as they won the first leg. The game seemingly was for Real Madrid, however, Chelsea almost made history!
The game started with Chelsea on the front foot. After 15 minutes of play, Mason Mount managed to score a goal to put the game at 3-2! The game was seemingly looking as if Chelsea would win this contest and go through to the Semi-Final! Chelsea was winning 4-3 in the 75th with Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger scoring before then, however, Rodrygo managed to score, making the game go into extra time!
Chelsea needed to win this game to get into the next round of the Champions League, however, the game ended with Real Madrid managing to score in the 96th minute with Benzema stepping up to the plate and scoring!
Meaning current Champions League Champions are out of the Champions League to make way for the new Champions of Europe coming in the next few weeks and or months! Real Madrid will go through to the Semi-Finals of the Champions League!
