Chelsea vs Barcelona: Club Friendly!

23rd July 2019, Chelsea went up against, one of the best teams in Europe, Barcelona in a club friendly match. Most of the time in these situations some clubs test out formations and see which players do better in different positions, however Frank Lampard needed to win this match to prove that his team is good enough without any transfers been made. He has previously drawn to a team that they should have won, however beat St Patrick’s Athletic, this win against Barcelona could show that Chelsea could win the league this season if they don’t lose form.

The match started at 11:30am and this game did not disappoint in any way shape or form. Chelsea were putting Barcelona to their paces and they had chance after chance that they were missing every time, however, in the 34th minute, Jorhinho got his first ever assist for the club and Tammy Abraham scored! Making it 1-0 to Chelsea, however nothing happened other than attack after attack by both teams, but Ross Barkley went onto the pitch in the 60th minute and scored in the 81st minute to make it 2-0 to Chelsea, however Barcelona scored in the 90th +1 minute and looked like they were going to get another but never did and Chelsea won 2-1!

Chelsea will be hoping to keep this form continues into the Premier League and hope they have a high chance of winning the league. Frank Lampard was unable to use the transfer window this season due to Chelsea gaining a transfer ban; however, Lampard is certain Chelsea didn’t need this transfer ban and believes they can win the league with the team they have currently. Will Chelsea be in the top 5?
