Premier League Results: Screamers And Fast Goals

Another eventful night in the Premier League is over, with Chelsea coming out on top against Brighton and Wolves beating Sheffield United.

Both winning teams were away from home, but they still played with confidence and quality.

Wolves, in form as ever, got stuck in straight away, with Jiminez scoring a volley in the box in the second minute, and Saiss scoring a header in the sixth! Chelsea however, looked less immediately threatening and took the lead in the 26th minute after Jorginho buried a penalty cool as ever. New signing Timo Werner won the penalty after a darting run forward, and despite not getting a goal, he looked lively and threatening throughout the match.

The Wolves game had few more chances after the first 2 goals, and it could have easily been 0-3 had Jiminez not put a sitter wide. Sheffield were okay defensively, but often gave Wolves players too much time and space.

Not long after Jorginho scored the penalty, Brighton’s highly rated Trossard buried the ball in the bottom corner from distance to equalise, beating the keeper with a bounce. Chelsea, clearly adopting the “anything you can do I can do better” approach, made it 1-2 after Reece James put a 25 yard screamer right in the top corner.

Brighton continued to look mildly threatening throughout the game, nearly equalising with a header, but scrappy defending from a corner allowed Kurt Zouma to essentially roll the ball past the keeper to make it 1-3. Neither team were at their best, with both teams making some big mistakes defensively, but at the end of the day, Chelsea were the more clinical side and took their chances better,
