Lampard’s First Champions League Win!

On Wednesday 2nd October 2019, Chelsea went up against Lille in the Champions League, Chelsea seemed to be getting better under Lampard and could be on their way back up the table, however the Champions League is as important to a player than the Premier League is. So, Lampard put his best team out to try and get the victory and gain his first Champions League win in style. This didn’t happen the way Lampard would have wanted; however, he got the win nevertheless.

The game started and Chelsea were in full swing trying to break the deadlock early on, but not able to score a goal very quickly. Chance after chance, nothing really happened for them, however in the 22nd minute, Chelsea managed to score. Tammy Abraham showing England and Chelsea why he should start in every game for them. This lead only lasted 11 minutes when Lille player Osimhen managed to get through and score to make it 1-1. Half time, the score was 1-1, second half started, and nothing happened until the 77th minute when Willian scored the winning goal and got Lampard his first win for Chelsea in the Champions League.

Chelsea are starting to perform like a team and are starting to perform like they should be. Lampard was in doubt at the start of the season and will be until the end of the season, since Chelsea hasn’t had the best of luck and the best of starts. Lampard will be using the January transfer window to improve his team’s defensive play and small bit in the centre of midfield as well, his forwards are fine, and wingers are doing the job.
