After a disappointing start to the Premier League, Frank Lampard’s side is finally working their way up the league table and getting into the top 4 spot. Right now, they are 5th by 2 points and could still end up going down the league table once again, however Chelsea seem to be getting better and better each time they play. The start of the season wasn’t the best for the team, however now they seem to be improving and seem to be getting somewhere right now! Only 3 points away from second and 10 points away from current leaders Liverpool!
Chelsea went up against Southampton over the weekend and managed to perform and won the game very easily. They managed to win the game 4-1 and still had the chance to score more throughout the game, the youngsters are seeming to prove they are better than there last few strikers, however Abraham is breaking the number 9 curse. The curse that each player at Chelsea performed bad in that shirt, examples Morata and Torres. Tammy Abraham managed to score in the 17th minute of the game with a great chip that almost got cleared off the line, Mason Mount scored the next goal in the 24th minute, however Danny Ings scored 6 minutes later for Southampton, but Chelsea kept going and ended up winning the game 4-1!
This performance has shown everyone that Chelsea does have what it takes to become the Premier League champions once again, however they will have to keep this great form if they are wanting to go up the league quickly, they will have to win every game near enough from now and hope that Liverpool and Manchester City lose points throughout the season if they are wanting to have a chance of getting towards the top of the league from now!
