Frenkie de Jong is one of the best midfielders in the world right now, and or becoming one of the world’s best after signing a great deal with Barcelona, however Xavi, newly appointed manager at Barcelona, wanted to sell him, however, Frankie De Jong has replied!
A Premier League side was hoping to sign the Netherlands midfielder last month in a deal worth £63.5 million, however, the move was not finalized as he didn’t want to move.
De Jong came on at half-time and scored in Barcelona’s 6-0 friendly win over Pumas UNAM on Sunday.
“He is a Barca player of great quality and we want him to stay, He has offers but we want him to stay and he wants to stay too.” Said Laporta!
Barcelona is still in a financial state, with a lot of money owed, however, they are managing to stay active and stay in control with the purchase of 4 major players.
Barcelona has so far spent over £120+ million this summer on new signings Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde, with Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie arriving on free transfers.
