Disney’s Moana is set on the fictional island of Motunui. Moana is a young lady who has always been drawn to the ocean and what it is out there since a very young age. At the start of the movie, you get to see the back story of Maui and what he did to put the whole world in danger and why the world needs someone to save it.

Moana spends a lot of time trying to be out in the ocean, but Chief Tui who is also her father try’s everything to keep Moana safe and away from the ocean. Moana’s grandmother Tala has spent all of Moana’s life telling her stories about the ocean and the creatures within it, making sure she knows about her ancestors and who her tribe used to be. Gramma Tala helps Moana see who she is meant to be by showing Moana the boats of her ancestors and showing her the darkness that is taking over her island, this leads moana to go on the adventure of a lifetime so that she can save her island from dying.

Moana’s adventure is like no other, she goes to find Maui the shape-shifting demigod of the wind and sea so that he can put back the heart of Te Fiti. Now Maui is a human who was chosen by the gods to help mankind when his own family didn’t want him but whilst helping his ego seems to get bigger with the amount of love he is getting and one day Maui does the one thing that is destroying the world. He steals the heart of Te Fiti, Te Fiti is believed to be the creature of life and all the islands.

Whilst on this mission together Maui and Moana meet and defeat a lot of different creatures who are trying to steal the heart for their own selfish motives. When Maui and Moana do eventually get to Te Ka who is a demon of earth and fire that is “protecting” Te Fiti in their minds. They try to go through Te Ka to Te Fiti so they can put the heart back but learn it isn’t that simple as Te Ka will fight anyone who get close enough with the fire she can shoot out of her hands. After eventually getting through Moana learns that Te Ka is not who they think she is after all. Now I don’t want to give away too many spoilers because I know this film was very popular throughout the years, but I understand there is still a good amount of people who still haven’t seen this movie, all I will say is if you haven’t seen this movie, yet you should give it a watch as you will not regret it.
