Mario Science!

In this episode from the Game Theorists, they discuss the science behind Mario’s strength, and try to figure out how strong he is in the real world.

The bricks that Mario has been seen punching throughout every Mario game are actually not construction grade bricks. There were castles before the mushroom people were turned into these so-called bricks. The bricks that Mario is smashing could very well be a type of brick made specifically of some sort of packed fungus styrofoam brick. Also, the bricks even if they were real bricks, they could be any sort of brick or styrofoam needed due to the fact that the bricks seen being smashed are floating. Therefore if the bricks that are seen being smashed are in fact the same bricks used to create the castles in the mushroom kingdom they have the possibility of just floating there and not supporting anything.

BUT, assuming they are stone bricks, then it turns out that Mario is pretty darn strong. The video is below.
