On April 2nd, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched their new Instagram account. People have fully welcomed the account which will give an insight into the couple’s life, people have been so welcoming it broke a world record. They managed to get more than a million followers in less than six hours on their account – the world record.
The account is @sussexroyal and now has 3.3 million followers. The account will be used for a variety of reasons. On their first post the royals said: “We look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues,” they thanked everyone for their support and signed the post of with “Harry & Megan”.
The Guinness World Records took to Twitter to confirm their achievement.

The couple overtook South Korean K-pop singer, Kan Daniels, who got 1 million followers in 11 hours, 36 minutes.
The Royal couple have already posted a picture which showed Harry taking part in a ballet class in West London.
Before they made their own account they were part of the @kensingtonroyal Instagram account which was used by the Cambriges and Sussexes. The account will now represent William and Kate – they have 7.2 million followers.
The move follows many changes in the royal family, at the start of March the Queen joined Instagram and the royal family published new social media guidelines for the public after Kate and Meghan experienced trolling.
