Evolution of the Joker

One of the most iconic super villain in the DC world is the one and only the Joker, he was created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson. This iconic super villain made his first appearance in the debut issue of the comic book Batman, on April 25th 1940, which was published by DC comics. Kane and Robison took credit for the creation of the Joker but gave Finger writing contribution.

The original plan for the Joker was to be killed off during his initial appearance, but that was scratched as he became so popular and then became the archenemy of the superhero Batman. In the comics he is portrayed as criminal mastermind and a sadistic sense of humour. As Batman nemesis he has been in many of Batman storylines.

With the development of this character there can be various possible origin stories during his decades of appearances. The most iconic storyline is him falling into tank of chemical waste which turned bleached his skin white, turned his hair green and his lips bright red. This giving him the perfect look of a Joker.

The Joker is located in Gotham city and sometimes will work with some of the other villains like the Penguin and Two face. As he is one of the most iconic villain he has been list among the great comic book villains and fictional characters ever created.

Joker was even given a sidekick his first side kick when by the name of Gaggy Gagsworth who dressed like a clown but did not last long. However they were later resurrected as the one and only Harley Quinn who took a great boost of popularity. He is also seen having pet Hyenas which Harley refers to them as her babies.

He’s so popular he has even been given his own merchandise just like Batman.
