What does the 25th June have to offer, well on this day...

Today is Day of the Seafarer, this is a day to commemorate the international seaborne trade that brings us 90% of our household goods. The day also a day to recognise the world economy and civil society as a whole.

Over in Slovenia, it is a public holiday where they commemorate independence from the former Yugoslavia in 1991.

On the 25th of June in 1951 Columbia Broadcasting System broadcast the first colour television program.

And finally, today marks the anniversary of Canada's First Female Prime Minister. After winning the June 13th election to the leadership of the ruling Progressive-Conservative Party, Kim Campbell became Canada's 19th prime minister and its first woman prime minister
