Can Adam Gase survive much longer in New York after another howler of a game, this time against one which is pretty bad too? The game its self was fun for the neutral, largely thanks to the haphazard play, especially in the second half. The good news is we learned a few things from the game (apart from the fact that the Jets are probably looking for a new coaching team).

Brett Rypien might just about be good enough to be a starter if he can overcome the errors. He was steady enough early but the wheels came off big time as the game wore on and although he threw for 242 yards and 2 TDs he won’t get away with throwing three interceptions against any other team. The Broncos are plagued with injuries at present, but with the Chiefs in their division and the Chargers and Raiders probably a bit better than their records suggest this could be a long hard slog.

The Jets looked awful despite Sam Darnold opening with an impressive 46 yard TD run. Shame he couldn’t muster much else, still when you have an OL that leaves you running for your life most downs he did well to avoid turning the ball over. Still falling over and effectively sacking yourself is not good and he still seems to fall apart when the pressure is on late.  He should finish the season as the starter but a big improvement is needed if he is to stay there in 2021.

Darnold’s performance brought back memories of the Mark Sanchez days!
