It’s not often that a team makes a season-defining trade this late into the transfer deadline, however, the 49ers have just made a huge statement of intent. They have sent Carolina 2023’s second-, third and fourth-round picks plus a 2024 fifth-rounder to secure Christian McCaffery’s services. A move that might just put them over the top in their quest for their first Super Bowl win since 1994.
This looks like a bargain to us as we expected him to cost at least a 1st round pick. Assuming he stays fit and the rest of the 49ers roster follows suit they are now our tip for the NFC slot in Super Bowl LVII.
