NY Jets Sign Ty Montgomery To A One Year Deal

The NY Jets have reportedly added to their running back depth by signing former Green Bay Packer Ty Montgomery on a one-year deal.  Given they already signed LeVeon Bell means they are probably not going to start him at his prefered position of Running Back. However, it does make more sense when you consider that he can play Wide Receiver (his original position) and is a decent kick returner – well at least he is when e doesn’t fumble it. His Green Bay career effectively ended in week 8 last year against the Rams, when instead of taking a knee he tried running the ball out and lost it so ending the game.

The Jets lost their leading kick returner Andre Roberts in free agency so this signing does fill a need while adding cover at two other spots.
