The PM has said there will be very “limited” changes to the lockdown, and if at any time the Coronavirus cases rise too rapidly, he will re-impose the tough measures.

He has been warned by the Scottish PM that relaxing measures too quickly will cause the number of Coronavirus cases to rise again, after she extended Scotland’s lockdown for another 3 weeks.

“The Prime Minister said he is considering whether there can be any easement of existing guidelines,” his spokesman has said.

“We are not going to do anything that risks a second peak. We will advance with maximum caution.”H

Johnson is set to address the country on Sunday, after he deliberates and decides what to do next with scientists over the next few days. There will already some sort of plan in place, but now it’s just about keeping the public updated and finalising any details.

“We are at a critical moment in the fight against the virus. We will not do anything that risks throwing away the sacrifice and effort of the British people.”

“We are not prepared to do anything with gambles away the sacrifices of the British public, that risks a second spike or risks a further shock to the economy by easing the measures too soon and having to impose them again,” stressed No 10.

This comes after the Scottish FM Nicola Sturgeon explained how she wouldn’t be “pressured” into lifting restrictions early, after imposing lockdown for another 3 weeks.

The First Minister said she made choices to continue restrictions “informed by the evidence that are right and safe for Scotland”.

Continuing she said: “I will not be pressured into lifting restrictions prematurely before I am as certain as I can be that we will not be risking a resurgence of infection rates.”

A lot of people will probably be upset with what is expected to be announced tonight, as not much really is going to change for the next few weeks it seems. But everyone must remember what this is for! It’s to save lives and keep the most vulnerable safe.
