Covid-19 has changed the way everyone looks at the world. Lockdown, lives changed and more was what it took to change the course of the UK during the pandemic. There were a lot of issues during the pandemic this time round. Plot holes and early lockdown dates were the main issues, however, the UK can learn from this for when the next pandemic enters the world!

The Covid-19 pandemic was one of the hardest viruses to contain in the UK and all across the world, with many people managing to contact the virus more than once, and to this day, people are still being infected with Covid-19.

There were a few things the UK can take from this, however. a lot of lives were lost during this pandemic that could have been avoided if the UK listened to the warning signs.

“Every person has had their life changed to some extent, Those who have suffered the most will want to know if any more could have been done to reduce their suffering.” said Lady Hallett.

The UK can learn from this by;

  • Enforcing rules quicker.
    • One of the main issues with Covid-19 was how fast it spread, once arriving in the UK, PM Boris Johnson let the virus spread past 5000 cases and then placed us into lockdown. Then this surpassed 100,000 cases until the lockdown was enforced again.
  • Enforcing the right rules.
    • If the right rules were in place, this may not have gone the way it did. As many issues were because places were becoming hot spots for the virus.
  • No Rule Breaks
    • One of the biggest issues was rule-breaking, PM Boris Johnson managed to break his own rules and this made everyone else not trust his leadership.
  • Preparing once the virus is detected
    • The UK never prepared for Covid-19 like other places. China went into lockdown, same as Germany and France and even Spain. The UK was in full swing while the PM said wash your hands.
  • Quicker response
    • The quicker the response, the quicker the pandemic is over.
