Since the end of the week, the number of Covid-19 patients has gone down from 93,000 to under 85,000 a day, still too many for the NHS to handle however numbers are slowly going down with some new restrictions in place, however, these restrictions are due to change with the new variant hitting everyone and with over 10,000 cases of Covid-19 being from that variant.
This new variant has caused so many people to go into hospital so far as no one knows how deadly this new virus will end up being and or if it’s worse than the original variant. On Sunday, 82,886 cases of Covid-19 were discovered in the UK and Prime Minister Boris Johnson is suggesting a change to the restrictions due to the number of people contacting Covid-19 in the past week, as more than 300,000 people this week have contacted Covid-19.
There have been rumors of a two-week lockdown after Christmas and with this in mind, will it help with cases? This may help slightly at the beginning as not a lot of people will listen, to begin with, and or will have got it from the day beforehand, meaning the cases will still rise for the first week and maybe longer, however, the long term effect will be much greater. Like the last time we had lockdown, no one will be able to contact it if everyone is indoors.
This may be the only thing that will help the UK stop the virus from spreading, however, no one knows if it’s a good idea and or not as the last times the UK has been in lockdown, it surged back up. What will happen this time?
