Premier League to be Cancelled?

2019/2020 season has been great so far, Liverpool looking like the real winners, the battle for the top 4 spot, apart from the top spot, all the teams are shocking each other, overall a great season so far, however the coronavirus outbreak has stopped the season so far due to the way it is known to spread. This was in mid March, 13th March to be exact, and since then, the Premier was set to return once the outbreak is slowing down, however the virus was not slowing down and is still going up and up. League Managers Association have said that football can return if the clubs agree to the neutral venues.

Right now, it is looking like the neutral venues are set to be used, however some clubs are not happy and may not be backing them in there choices. This pandemic has stopped football in other country’s, such as France, Ligue 1 has cancelled the season and now we could see the Premier League doing that too. If the clubs don’t back the venues, they are forced to cancel the season, meaning Liverpool could be named winners of the Premier League. The Premier League is determined to have the last 92 fixtures played but if no clubs accept this new venue rule, the league is set to be cancelled.

So far, Brighton has said they are not in favour of using the neutral venues because it may effect the integrity of the Premier League. Boris Johnson is set to update the UK again soon on the lockdown measures and see if the league can carry on. Right now, the UK are having up and down cases and deaths. One day, the UK have had the lowest recorded deaths and cases, the next, the UK have more deaths recorded and more cases confirmed.
