Once again, the Premier League didn’t disappoint. There were plenty of goals, and excitement both early and late in the weekends games.
Leicester did manage to hold onto pole position, after they travelled to Manchester and beat Manchester City 5-2. Jamie Vardy, the man in form, managed to bag himself a hat trick, against a disappointing Manchester City side.
Leicester initially went behind to a Mahrez goal, which was hit sweetly into the top corner, but the lead didn’t last long, as Vardy scored a penalty gifted to him by Walkers foul. From here onwards, it was all Leicester, with City giving away another penalty, which was once again tucked away by Vardy. A few goals later, the game ended 5-2 in the favour of Leicester. The defeat is the first in Guardiola’s career where his side has conceded 5 goals, leaving City fans wondering what went wrong.

VAR and late penalties played a big part in this weekends results.
Bruno Fernandes, after the final whistle blew, went on to score a penalty, after a late handball appeal was given to Manchester United. Brighton, who were arguably the better team throughout the game, were robbed in the 100th minute. Manchester United won 3-2.
Tottenham also suffered a similar unfair fate, with Tottenham getting off 35 shots, compared to Newcastle’s 7. Lucas scored an early goal, assisted by Kane, which was the only goal in the game up until the 97th minute – when Newcastle were gifted a questionable penalty after a wayward header hit the back of Diers arm. Callum Wilson buried the penalty despite Lloris going the right way, and not long after, the final whistle was blown and the game ended 1-1.
