Yesterday, the football world saw one of the greatest European teams in history lose against one of the best Spanish teams in Europe at the minute. Atletico Madrid managed to break the deadlock and win the match 1-0 which means they are now through to the quarter finals of the Champions League.
The first half of this contest saw Manchester United in top form, with some people believing that United would go on and win this contest, however the match ended with one goal and Manchester United fans outraged by the performance as United should of won this contest.
Renan Lodi was the man that scored the first and only goal in the match, with Anthony Elanga almost scoring before hand, however Oblak managed to keep Ronaldo, Elanga and Rashford at bay while Madrid managed to beat the Reds in an amazing contest.
Madrid will now be going into the Quarter finals of the Champions League and Manchester United will be hoping they are in the top 4 so they are able to compete in the Champions League again next year.
Looking at the stats from this game, all stats lead towards Manchester United winning the contest however, the stats don’t matter if the team lost the contest.
