Carlisle, League Two

Are Carlisle United Slipping?

Are Carlisle United Slipping?

Carlisle United managed to almost make it into the playoffs last season, gaining 68 points in 46 matches and coming 11th in the league, the did well to get to that spot and had a great team around it and were in great form only losing two in their last 5 games and drawing once… however this season hasn’t started well for the small club. They haven’t got the same team as the had last season, a lot of their players went and left, now they have an average team. Carlisle will have to try and get better throughout this season, otherwise we could be seeing them go back down into the conference league.

Currently 19th in the league after 7 matches, they have won 2, lost 4 and drawn 1. There last five matches they have drawn once, lost 3 times and own once, which isn’t great. There last match up was against Exeter City, which they lost 3-1 to, however Exeter City are top of the league currently. Carlisle United haven’t had the best start so by the looks of it, the manager will be hoping they don’t go down into the conference league since they are not doing too well. Next match is on the 14th September 2019 against Stevenage at 15:00. Will they end up winning this match?

There is still a lot of matches to go, nearly a whole season of matches still to go, so we could still see the them go and fight up the league, become higher up in the League and could still get to the top of the league, however looking at the stats, there is no way currently of us seeing Carlisle make it to the top, however football is full of surprises and we could go ahead and see them make a miracle and get into the playoffs!
