Real or Fake? Shark in Sydney Harbour

Spotted… Shark in Sydney Harbour

On the 11th June 2014, 2 men were trying to get some go pro footage of them jumping into the waters in Sydney Harbour, all was going well, until they encounter something they never thought they would encounter… but is this video real, or is it fake? Let’s find out.

The video was taken by a YouTuber by the name of Terry Tufferson on the 11th June 2014 and this video claims to be a man fighting off a great white shark in Sydney Harbour. The video starts off with someone putting a go pro on their friends head before they jump into the Harbour, however once he jumps in his friend on the high ledge shouts Shark and once he goes underneath the water… we see a giant Great White Shark appear from out of nowhere. After he sees the shark, he tries to go to the rocks and get to safety while defending himself from the shark.

We know this video seems to look real and there couldn’t possibly be a way for this to be fake right? Wrong! This video that claims to show a man fighting off a shark is in fact… Fake!

If you look closely 58 seconds into the video, the shark jumps from one position to the next, meaning one shark disappears as the other one comes into shot. The power of editing! This is a great fake video but the comments for this is way better. One comment says, “the shark was a paid actor”. Overall this video is fake due to that one major issue, if the shark didn’t jump from one place to the next, they might of go away with it.
