A record of 3.63 million people tuned in on Monday to watch as Greg O’Shea and Amber Gill were announced the winners of Love Island 2019. The episode was also watched by a further 400,00 fans on non-TV devices such as phones and tablets.

LOVE ISLAND
This years Love Island was an increase from the amount of viewers who watched last year’s final where Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham won.
Amber and Greg were the winners everyone were surprised by as they beat the fans favourites, Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague who were together on the show for two months.
Greg only entered the villa near the end but stole the nations heart with the way he treated Amber. The viewers watched how Greg made Amber smile again after she was dumped and ‘gaslighted’ by former contestant Michael Griffiths.
During the final episode Greg said: “I never thought this was going to happen at any stage. I wasn’t even in the villa two weeks ago, I wasn’t here two weeks ago and obviously the public saw us kick it off and it just went from there.”
Amber has proven to be one of the most popular contestants on the show this year, she has already gathered up 2.1 million followers on Instagram alone.
The show is such a hit with the public that ITV have now decided to do two a year, we will be seeing Love Island back on our screens at the start of 2020 in South Africa.
The Love Island 2019 places were:
Fourth – Maura and Curtis
Third – Ovie and India
Second – Molly-Mae and Tommy
First – Greg and Amber
When the winner was announced the shows camera caught the moment after the winners were announced, Mauras looked in disbelief with the results. However, we were just as shocked as her with Tommy and Molly not winning.
@LoveIsland So Maura’s face was a picture when the win was announced 🙈 everyone smiley, happy, excited, buzzing, then there was Maura. Made me giggle anyways 😂 #LoveIsland #LoveIslandFinal #Maurasface pic.twitter.com/NbcryiUpPm
