Other treaties in World War I

The new,  independent countries created and recognised by the Treaties of Saint Germain and Trianon often united groups who did not want to be united. Countries such as Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia no longer exist today because different groups in these countries fought bloody civil wars.

The Treaty of Serves was so harsh on Turkey that the country revolted against it and it had to be overturned by the Treaty of Lausanne. This showed that these treaties could not be enforced and showed people like Mussolini and Hitler that the Allies would soon ignore such treaties if violence was threatened.
