Greek Mythology: Apollo

Apollo is mostly known as the god of music but also is known as the god of poetry, art, oracles. He is son of the God Zeus and the Titan Leto. He was born in the Greek island of Delos, along with his older twin sister Artemis who helped aid his birth when she was born. Artemis is the Goddess of the hunt.

Medicine and healing was related to Apollo and some people thought he meditated with is son Asclepius. On the other hand Apollo could bring deadly plague and bring ill-health.

Apollo was one of very few gods, who kept the same name that was related to the romans, He wasn’t known much as the God of light but her was mainly focus on the God of music, healing and prophecy.
