It’s part of being human. It’s our brains way of dealing with uncomfortable or new, worrying situation. But how do you know it’s not becoming a real problem?
Studies have shown that a lot of people have an actual anxiety disorder, but never go and get diagnosed. Having an anxiety disorder can have scary and very negative effects on your life and particularly those around you. You can start worrying irrationally and about the littlest things. This quiz is no way medical advice, and you should always take medical advice of a professional over someone on the internet – but you should maybe consider a trip to the doctors if you do score high. Especially if you’ve been actually noticing it effect your every day life.
According to the NHS, you may have GAD if:
- your worrying is uncontrollable and causes distress
- your worrying affects your daily life, including school, your job and your social life
- you cannot let go of your worries
- you worry about all sorts of things, such as your job or health, and minor concerns, such as household chores
