Canadian Stamps worth looking for. The $2 Polar Bear from 1998 engraved by Swedish artist Martin Mörck.
This attractive stamp is part of a two stamp set issued on October 27 1998. It was issued in sheets of 16 as shown and it was in use from 1998 -2003. There are plenty around as around 11,500,000 were printed, however, sheetlets are now quite hard to find and command a premium.
Wildlife Series of Canadian Stamps
There are four high-value stamps in this series and a $1 stamp depicting the Common Loon was issued on the same day. This series also includes the $8 Grizzly Bear & the $5 Moose and together they make a great Wildlife Thematic album page.
The technical details:
Perforation: 13.5 x 13 printed on unwatermarked paper by the Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited.
An attractive First Day Cover was issued but for some reason, they only seem to have issued them on separate covers.
