AFC East, Miami Dolphins

What Should Miami Do With Their 14 Draft Picks?

Can The Dolphins Rebuild In A Season?

The Dolphins tore down the house big style in 2019, trading virtually anyone they could get a draft pick for and the enter the draft with a whopping 14 picks, including three 1sts, two 2nds & a 3rd! Sounds great eh? but bear in mind they have a load of holes to fill if they are going to get above 50-50 anytime soon. QB is the biggest need – not that Fitzpatrick is a bad QB but he is getting on and so unless they do something stupid like trade up for Burrows or the Chargers jump them they will have their pick of the remaining 3 first-round worthy QBs and plenty of capital to repair the roster.

For what its worth here is what we would do.

Pick 5 – Take Tua Tagovailoa – let him sit for a few weeks and then once you are sure he is fit the let him loose.

18th overall – Trade up to 13th with the 49ers (get ahead of the Buccs who might want a top OL to protect Brady) take the best OL man on the board. It will cost that 3rd rounder and possibly pick 227 as a makeweight, but it is worth it. Jedrick Wills should still be on the board here.

26th overall – Safety hopefully Xavier McKinney will still be on the board.

2nd Round

39th Best Running back Left Probably Jonathan Taylor

56th Best remaining OT

3rd Round

70th Traded

4th Round

141st Best DE left

5th Round – 3 picks

153rd Best OL man left

154th Best OL man left

173rd Best safety Left

6th Round

185th DL Depth

7th Round

227th Traded

246th DL Depth

251st WR

The 2019 Dolphins got better as the season progressed and if they can sort the O-Line by picking a few and seeing who floats to the top and get a proper running game then they could be a fringe playoff team in 2020 – assuming we get a season of course.
