The Lead In The AFC South At Stake

Nothing quite like a meaningful game to start the week with a game that means something and this one is a biggie as it the winner will move clear at the top of what is a wide-open division. Currently, the two are tied atop however the Colts with a win would go to 4-0 in the division which would could prove crucial in the end if as we expect this ends up remaining tight.

Houston who lost the sides first encounter 30-23 back in October will start 3.5 points favourites on the spread and will hope they can bounce back from a pretty horrible performance against the Ravens last week. Their rising star QB DeSean Watson was pretty much shut down by the Ravens Defense and they found themselves 41-0 down at one stage before they got a blushes sparing late TD. Fortunately for them, The Colts defense is not quite as good, however with Justin Houston hitting his stride of late Watson could have an uncomfortable night.

The Colts have a few injury worries on offense which is a concern, and RB Marlon Mack is almost certainly going to miss the game. Parris Campbell will also be missing and Eric Ebron and TY Hilton are listed as questionable although both should play a part. They bounced back from a couple of bad defeats against the Steelers & Dolphins (yes we did say Dolphins) with a comprehensive beat down on Jacksonville last week, but Marlon Mack was instrumental in getting that win and of course, he will be missing tonight.

Overall we expect a close and relatively low scoring game but think the Texans can edge this one to not only go clear at the top, but make some inroads into the divisional record.

Prediction

Indianapolis 17 Houston 23
